Job summary

Bay State Community Services is seeking a compassionate Overnight Youth Advocate to support adolescents in our residential program. You will provide awake overnight supervision to youth ages 12–18, ensure safety, and respond to crises while maintaining a calm, structured environment.

This role requires driving and may require occasional shifts at other residential programs in Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham, or Plymouth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience with adolescents preferred.
• Residential experience preferred.
• Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide awake overnight supervision and support to youth ages 12–18.
• Ensure safety and security of youth within the residential program.
• Conduct routine wellness and safety checks throughout the overnight shift.
• Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment.
• Respond to behavioral concerns, emergencies, and crisis situations.
• Provide guidance to youth throughout the night.
• Follow program routines, policies, and safety procedures.
• Complete shift logs and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Communicate information to incoming staff to support continuity of care.
• Serve as a positive role model with dignity, respect, and fairness.
