Job summary

O'Neal Steel has an opening for a (3rd shift) Loader at our Ambridge, PA facility. The Loader will load and unload material within a warehouse, using forklifts, overhead cranes, hand trucks, conveyors, spotter trucks and trailers to move material to and from trucks or trains.

The Loader must operate equipment safely, read measurements accurately, and adhere to established procedures. Shift is Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-6am, with overtime as needed; background check and drug test required.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including, forklifts and cranes.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and apply measurements.
• Commitment to safety and high quality workmanship.
• Willingness to learn product handling and rigging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a wide variety of material handling equipment including overhead crane, forklift, and related machinery.
• Apply critical thinking for planning and problem solving.
• Ensure loads comply with DOT weight regulations for legal and over dimensional shipments.
• Verify material, quantity, packaging and special instructions for each order.
• Perform loading duties 70% of the time or more.
• Use hand tools such as grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, etc.
• Maintain high quality work for internal and external customers.
• Learn and retain product knowledge, handling and rigging procedures.
