Job summary

O'Neal Steel in Ft. Wayne, IN is seeking a 3rd shift Loader to join our warehouse team.

The Loader will load and unload material using forklifts, cranes, conveyors and other handling equipment, following established procedures to ensure safety and accuracy. Responsibilities include handling multi-stop loads, verifying material, quantities and packaging per orders, and maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Operate equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane and other material handling gear.
• Demonstrate critical thinking for planning and problem solving.
• Safely load multi-stop loads for customer deliveries.
• Understand load balancing to meet DOT weight requirements.
• Verify material, quantity, packaging, and special instructions.
• Perform loading duties 70% of the time or more.
• Use hand tools and maintain equipment safely.
• Learn and retain product knowledge and rigging procedures.
• Read a tape measure accurately.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload material within a warehouse using various handling equipment.
• Move material to and from trucks or trains and within storage areas.
• Follow established guidelines to perform duties and ensure quality output.
• Maintain safety standards and report any hazards promptly.
