BluePearl Pet Hospital in Levittown, PA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician for our Overnight Emergency and Critical Care team. Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM, with a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 based on credentials/experience. Pay ranges from $22.15 to $44.91 per hour + shift differentials.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Proficient at phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other co-workers
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Levittown, PA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our Overnight Emergency and Critical Care team.

Schedule:

Wednesday - Saturday, 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM or 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

Pay:

$22.15 - $44.91 / hour + competitive shift differentials

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

Shift differentials

are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

Duties of an Emergency Veterinary Technician:

• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
