BluePearl Pet Hospital Levittown, PA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care team. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is offered based on credentials and experience.

Schedule: Wed–Sat, 4:00 PM–2:00 AM. Pay: $22.15–$44.91 per hour plus shift differentials. VTS credentialing may lead to compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician in emergency/critical care.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and recover patients.
• Proficiency in triage and vitals assessment in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia using monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergencies and record vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Understand normal vital ranges and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines as needed.
• Mentor and train co-workers and address client concerns.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Levittown, PA is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our thriving Emergency and Critical Care team.

*We're offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 based on credentials/experience*

Schedule: Wed - Sat, 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Pay: $22.15 - $44.91 / hour + competitive shift differentials

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential

Duties of an Emergency Veterinary Technician:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
