BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an Overnight Veterinary Receptionist to join our Brooklyn, NY team!

Schedule: This position requires at least 1 shift on weekends.

Pay: $21.50 - $33.00/hour
This pay band depends on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr

Role Overview

At BluePearl Pet Hospital, our Veterinary Receptionists are crucial to our hospital's success. You will be the first point of contact for clients, ensuring they receive attentive and compassionate service. The role requires calmness and compassion, especially in emotional situations.

Responsibilities

1. Greet clients warmly and professionally at every entry.
2. Maintain friendly eye contact and approachable demeanor.
3. Listen compassionately to clients.
4. Communicate clearly and calmly in person and over the phone.
5. Assess clients and pets upon arrival to determine needs and urgency.
6. Identify emergency cases as 'stat' or 'standard'.
7. Respond to non-patient calls and visitors, directing them appropriately.
8. Confirm appointments and provide clients with preparation instructions.
9. Offer emotional support and resources to grieving clients.
10. Handle pet remains with care, ensuring a complete and compassionate process.
