Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our overnight team in Swedesboro, NJ. You will support veterinarians, assist with surgeries and anesthesia, and educate clients while contributing to a compassionate, high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of veterinary clinical experience required
• Overnight availability required
• Experience in emergency or surgical setting preferred
• Anesthesia experience preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Assist with maximizing productivity and maintaining positive patient flow with each hospital function.
• Assist with preparation for surgeries and procedures, including anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain health history from clients and maintain medical charts
• Mentor and support fellow team members
