Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking aFacilities Technician to supervise the operation and maintenance of utility equipment within campus buildings. Responsibilities include maintaining HVAC systems, water testing, basic plumbing and electrical tasks, and supporting shift coverage.

The role requires knowledge of HVAC, electrical and steam systems, plus ability to read blueprints, follow instructions, and maintain safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC, electrical, and steam maintenance.
• Ability to interpret instructions, blueprints, and specs.
• Ability to operate and maintain utility equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains air compressors, fans, pumps, and water systems.
• Maintains heating and cooling equipment and troubleshoots controls.
• Performs water testing and documents results.
• Performs minor plumbing and electrical maintenance on plant systems.
• Logs service and may substitute for absent shift personnel.
• Participates in training for higher level positions.
