Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Facilities Technician responsible for the operation and maintenance of utility equipment across campus buildings. Under direct supervision, you will manage HVAC, pumps, valves, and related systems to keep infrastructure running.

Duties include routine inspections, water testing, minor plumbing/electrical work, and documentation. The role requires a high school diploma, valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to read blueprints and follow safety rules.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, operations, repair, and maintenance (HVAC, electrical, steam).
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions, specifications, etc. (blueprint reading).
• Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
• Ability to comply with institutional and job specific safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous, pleasant and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain air compressors, fans, pumps, and related utility equipment.
• Maintain heating and air conditioning equipment, including cleaning coils and replacing filters.
• Perform water testing, analysis, and documentation on utility systems.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical maintenance on equipment and building and plant utility systems.
• Perform pipe fitting, painting, housekeeping, and other miscellaneous tasks and logs service provided.
• May be required to fill in for absent shift personnel.
• Trains for higher level positions.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
