Job summary

Koch Trucking is seeking an Overnight Transportation Coordinator to manage the overnight trucking operations from the Minneapolis area. The role focuses on coordinating drivers, loads, and freight movement while ensuring quality customer service and equipment utilization.

You will back up Driver Managers and support operational continuity during non-business hours. A strong emphasis on problem solving, communication, and collaboration across teams is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of customer service experience.
• 1+ year of transportation industry experience.
• Experience with TMW, Omnitracs, and Qualcomm systems.
• Extensive knowledge of DOT compliance regulations, hours of service, and vehicle compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide drivers with necessary customer contact information and directions.
• Plan and assign loads, ensuring full driver and equipment utilization while meeting customer expectations.
• Maintain awareness of each assigned driver’s preferences, home time needs, and working conditions.
• Monitor driver hours of service and regulatory compliance before dispatching.
• Manage mileage expectations for drivers based on account objectives or weekly mileage goals.
• Track drivers on high-security loads and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Respond to driver, customer, and supplier inquiries during and after business hours.

Description

The Overnight Transportation Coordinator supports the trucking division by managing customer needs, driver assignments, and freight movement during the overnight shift. This role ensures quality customer service, maximizes equipment utilization, and maintains driver productivity. The coordinator serves as a backup to Driver Managers and plays a critical role in problem-solving, tracking, and operational continuity during non-business hours.

Location: Golden Valley, MN

Hiring Range: $63,000 - 68,000+, commensurate with experience

Schedule: 4 on 4 off rotating shift. Weekdays 2pm to midnight, Weekends noon to 10pm

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• Experience with TMW, Omnitracs, and Qualcomm systems.
• 3+ years of experience as a fleet manager or dispatcher.
• Extensive knowledge of DOT compliance regulations, hours of service, controlled substance policies, and vehicle compliance standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for up to 90% of the workday using a computer, phone, keyboard, and mouse
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the remaining time
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds

About the Role

The salary grade for this position ranges from $63,000.00 - $76,000.00. Starting pay within this range will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
