Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an experienced store leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive sales, and ensure a showroom aligns with Meijer standards and prime shopping hours.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence, staffing optimization, and leadership in a fast-paced retail environment with focus on safety and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in various store areas and customer service experience helpful.
• Clear and precise direction to team members is required.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Commitment to safe working practices for the team.
• Ability to mentor team members across roles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for the team, and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is thoroughly trained and has completed all required training.
• Spend majority of time in store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
