North Suffolk Community Services is seeking an Overnight Support Specialist to ensure the safety and well-being of consumers with mental health diagnoses in a residential setting. The role covers overnight hours, staying awake to monitor clients and complete required documentation, with a focus on safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities include security checks, incident documentation, and basic household upkeep, plus assisting with medication administration.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a similar field, preferred.

North Suffolk is looking for Overnight Residential Staff to join our team! As an Overnight Support Specialist for North Suffolk Community Services you’ll be responsible for the safety and well‑being of consumers with mental health diagnoses in a residential setting. You will assist clients based on their need level while following all agency policies, procedures, and licensing/funding source requirements. The Overnight Support Specialist is awake and available to consumers during the entire overnight shift.

Full and part-time positions available in a variety of locations. Please indicate preferred location and shift/day availability in application.

Salary Range

$20.00 per hour
$2.00 / hour differential for high intensity programs

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• Education:
  • High School degree or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar field, preferred.
• Experience:
  • In lieu of college degree, at least six months experience with population that has severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
• Skills:
  • You must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Be or become MAP certified, CPR/First Aid certified within five months of hire (training provided).
