Job summary

North Suffolk is seeking Residential Support Specialists and Direct Support Specialists to join our team in Chelsea and surrounding towns. The roles provide direct care to individuals in a residential setting, including those with mental health diagnoses and developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in any related field preferred.
• Experience supporting individuals in mental health/special ed or human services settings.
• Experience with populations having severe mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
• Must have valid Driver's license.
• Must be or able to become MAP certified.
• Must be or able to become CPR/First Aid certified within five months of hire (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Implement individual treatment plans for residents.
• Assist with daily living activities including meals, money management, doctor's appointments, and personal hygiene.
• Engage residents and collaborate to improve health and wellness, manage symptoms, and restore skills for self-directed living.
• Ensure appropriate staff-to-client ratio at all times.
• Develop and promote a supportive relationship with residents.
• Provide side-by-side support and coaching to help people socialize and participate in the community.

North Suffolk is looking for Residential Support Specialists and Direct Support Specialists to join our team! These team members provide direct care to individuals living in a residential setting. Residential Support Specialists work with individuals with various mental health related diagnoses, while Direct Support Specialists work with clients with developmental disabilities.

What you'll do:

• Engage people and partner with them to improve their health and wellness, achieve symptom stabilization and self-management and develop and/or restore skills impacted by mental illness to help them live a self-directed life.

• Develop and promote a supportive relationship with the residents
• Provide side-by-side support and coaching to help people socialize and become more involved in their community.

What you'll need:

• Education:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in any related field preferred.
• Experience:
  • Experience supporting individuals in a mental health/special education or other human services setting OR
  • Experience working with a population that has severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
• Skills:
  • Must have valid Driver's license.

• $2.00/hour differential for high intensity programs
