Job summary

MLA Move Language Ahead is seeking a Night Guardian for a full-time seasonal role in Mahwah, NJ, supervising students during overnight quiet hours and reporting to the Welfare Manager. The position runs July through mid-August, six nights per week from 10 p.m.

to 7 a.m., with responsibilities including safety, policy enforcement, and incident logging. The role includes paid training, a company phone, and required certifications (First Aid, CPR/AED).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal English communication.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Represent MLA Move Language Ahead's values and model those values to others.
• Background check and child abuse clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Attend required paid training and induction meetings.
• Review campus policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct rounds of residence halls to enforce curfew and quiet hours.
• Collaborate with campus Public Safety on security matters.
• Perform room inspections and report damages.
• Assist center office and maintain daily incident logs.
• Handle phones and maintain accurate records.
• Assist in departure procedures and key collection.
