Job summary

Hy-Vee in Norfolk is seeking an Overnight Stocker to keep shelves full and organized during the overnight shift. You’ll unload trucks, stock products, tag shelves, and ensure freshness while helping customers early each morning.

The role offers an hourly, overnight schedule with training provided. This is a physically active position that requires teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way.
• Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy overnight shift.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and helping them find what they need.
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along feedback to the team.
• Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate product to ensure freshness.
• Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and wrong deliveries, and report issues accordingly.
• Organize stock for greatest efficiency and clean and restock any damaged items.
• Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
• Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input.
• Work alongside teammates to ensure a smooth, efficient overnight operation.
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
