Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in human services or with diverse populations.
• Completion of required training within designated timeframes.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to prepare meals for groups of 30–40 people.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety of residents, facilities, and grounds.
• Supervise residents to ensure order and compliance with shelter rules.
• Share information on community resources with residents.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, and residents.
• Assign and oversee resident cleaning chores.
• Reinforce shelter policies fairly, without discrimination or favoritism.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and contact supervisors as needed.
• Maintain professional boundaries with residents.
• Prepare meals as needed.
• Support The Salvation Army’s mission, policies, and confidentiality standards.
