Job summary

SMI Security is seeking an experienced Security Officer to join our team at a high-rise condominium/hotel property located in the Bal Harbour area. This overnight role focuses on security, access control, resident and guest safety, and property protection.

The ideal candidate will work with the Loss Prevention Team and management, patrol the property, monitor entrances, respond to incidents and emergencies, and maintain detailed reports while upholding professional standards.

Qualifications

• Prior professional security experience, preferably in high-rise or hospitality settings.
• Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Valid Florida security license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security patrols throughout the property and designated areas.
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, parking areas, and other assigned locations.
• Collaborate with Loss Prevention Team to identify and report concerns.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence during the shift.
• Monitor and respond to alarms, incidents, disturbances, and emergencies.
• Enforce property security policies in a professional manner.
• Assist residents, guests, and staff with security-related questions.
• Prepare detailed daily activity and incident reports.
• Communicate with supervisors, management, Loss Prevention, and emergency personnel as needed.
• Follow all policies, post orders, client requirements, and applicable laws.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, guests, and property operations.
