Job summary

Windsor Court seeks an Overnight Safety and Security Officer to protect guests, employees and property while maintaining a visible presence and a sense of safety.

You will handle phone dispatches, log daily activity, and assist with emergencies, ensuring calm, professional responses during overnight shifts from 11pm to 7am. Prior safety training and hotel experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; experience in hotel or related field preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Certificate of Completion in Safety and Security Training (state requirements).
• CPR, First Aid, and Heimlich Maneuver Certified.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to work overnight shift (11pm–7am).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance per Windsor Court standards and hotel scheduling needs.
• Uphold personal appearance, grooming, uniform, and name tag standards.
• Adhere to Windsor Court policies to ensure safe hotel operations.
• Answer phones promptly and communicate effectively with staff and guests.
• Review and maintain the daily activity log.
• Maintain confidentiality of incidents involving guests or associates.
• Open secured areas for authorized personnel and check IDs as needed.
• Be aware of local/state ordinances affecting the position.
• Investigate thefts, accidents, and assault reports; assist with incident reporting.
• Assist outside agencies as needed.
• Assist intoxicated guests when required.
• Know hotel and guestroom locking systems.
• Respond to security alarms and monitor cameras as applicable.
• Challenge suspicious persons as appropriate.
• Conduct rounds to check safety hazards and locks; pick up items left on property.
• Assist during medical emergencies with First Aid/CPR/Heimlich as necessary.
• Prepare clear incident/accident reports in collaboration with hotel leadership.

The Windsor Court seeks a skilled and experienced Overnight Safety and Security Officer who is responsible for providing protection for hotel guests, employees, and property. They are also responsible for providing guests with a sense of comfort and well-being by maintaining a level of visibility.

Responsibilities

• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with The Windsor Court standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.
• Comply with The Windsor Court standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Answer phone and dispatch promptly, and demonstrate proper two-way communication etiquette when communicating with other Associates and guests.
• Maintain and review the daily activity log.
• Maintain confidentiality with respect to guests' and associates' incidents.
• Open secured areas for authorized personnel; check the IDs of visitors/associates' bags as necessary.
• Maintain an awareness of legal limitations of position (i.e., local ordinances, state ordinances, etc.).
• Investigates room thefts, auto accidents/thefts, and assault complaints for guests (not for Associates); serves as the first responder, partnering with Department Head/Hotel leadership to write the incident report.
• Assist outside agencies as necessary.
• Assist with intoxicated guests.
• Be knowledgeable about hotel and guestroom locking systems.
• Respond to security alarms and monitor TV cameras (if applicable).
• Challenge suspicious persons.
• Conduct rounds, checking for safety hazards, checking lights and door locks, and picking up items left on the property.
• Assist during medical emergencies, administering First Aid/C.P.R./Heimlich maneuver, as necessary.
• In partnership with the Department Head/Hotel leadership, completes Incident/Accident Reports clearly and concisely.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.

• Certificate of Completion in Safety and Security Training (must comply with State requirements)
• CPR, First Aid, and Heimlich Maneuver Certified
