Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks Security Officers to provide professional security and life safety services for people and property. Officers greet customers, maintain a visible presence, monitor environments, and enforce policies while ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities include answering phones, controlling access, patrolling areas, monitoring alarms, and preparing incident reports. The role emphasizes customer service and professional conduct across shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication and professional appearance.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide concierge services and greet customers, visitors, and guests in a professional manner.
• Maintain a visible presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests and manage access appropriately.
• Answer phones professionally and assist with inquiries.
• Permit authorized entry and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Conduct required patrols on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel and protect company property.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems and report incidents.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
