Job summary

Harvard Protection Services seeks a Security Officer to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety for people and property. The officer will maintain a professional demeanor, be visibly present, monitor environments, and enforce policies while ensuring safety and incident reporting.

The role requires a security license, a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Must have a state or municipality security officer license or be able to obtain one.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat and professional appearance.
• Write routine logs and incident reports.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and aid customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic and know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Greet people in a professional manner at all times.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Permit authorized persons to enter and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
