AC Hotel San Jose Downtown is seeking an Overnight Security/Guard to maintain a safe, secure environment for guests and staff, coordinating with law enforcement and monitoring services as needed. The role requires vigilance, strong communication, and readiness to respond to emergencies.

Candidates should have at least two years of related security experience, a valid driver's license, and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the building is safe and secure at all times and liaise with police and alarm services.
• Maintain building safety and security measures.
• Keep up-to-date information on city/county events.
• Answer telephones pleasantly within three rings.
• Maintain a clean, neat desk and environment.
• Respond to guest requests promptly.

What you’ll do:

The Brass Tacks

• Responsible for ensuring the building is a safe and secure environment at all times. Maintains a close working relationship with the police and alarm monitoring services
• Ensures proper building safety and security measures are always followed
• Maintains up to date information of events, both current and future, occurring in the city and county
• Answers the telephone in a pleasant and professional manner within three rings
• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly desk at all times
• Responds to all guest’s requests in an expeditious manner

The Nitty Gritty

• Two years related experience and/or training, especially being an unarmed security guard.
• Possess excellent verbal and people skills
• The ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required to analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Valid driver’s license.
  
• CPR certification required.
  
• Previous experience in security or related field is preferred.
  
• Ability to follow established security policies and procedures.
  
• Strong communication skills to interact with guests, staff, and management.
  
• Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
  
• Strong attention to detail in monitoring hotel assets and documenting activities.
  
• Security certification is preferred.
