Job summary

The Bergen County Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services seeks an Institutional Attendant for a 24/7 residential program. You will perform nonprofessional nursing duties, supervise overnight shifts, and support women in recovery from substance use.

The role includes life safety training, record-keeping, and client transportation as needed. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid New Jersey driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals who have a substance use disorder in their recovery.
• Maintain order and discipline within the institution and grounds.
• Provide guidance and oversight to groups of inmates/patients performing routine duties.
• Participate in patient engagement activities and life safety training.
• Assist in leading group and individual activities and transportation of clients.
• Conduct urine drug screens, breathalyzer tests, and alcohol swabs as assigned.
• Prepare reports and maintain program records in a timely manner.
