Job summary

Center for Hope & Safety in Bergen County, NJ seeks an Overnight Residential Assistant/Custodian Specialist. You will stock, clean, and maintain the facility, support survivors, and assist with daily operations during overnight hours.

The role requires a HS diploma or higher, valid driver's license, and ability to lift 35 pounds. Experience with nutrition, meals, and DV settings is a plus. We offer a structured, confidential environment focused on safety and empowerment.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma required; Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Human Services plus one year related work experience preferred.
• Nutrition and meal prep knowledge desired.
• Prior DV experience a plus.
• Driver's license and own car required.
• Flexible schedule to meet organizational needs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft and Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Carry and stock items in refrigerators, freezers, pantry shelves, and basement storage.
• Assemble perishables/non-perishables food boxes and maintain inventory.
• Clean offices, conference rooms, staff bathrooms; vacuum and mop.
• Remove trash daily and manage recycling activities.
• Perform general housekeeping and building maintenance tasks.
• Support staff, train new employees, and maintain confidentiality.
• Ensure safety and accessibility standards are met across the facility.
