Job summary

The Ellen O'Brien Gaiser Addiction Center is seeking a Recovery Assistant for overnight, part-time coverage in its Butler inpatient program. The role requires 11:00pm–7:00am shifts (Fri, Sat, Mon, Tue) with willingness to cover additional shifts as needed.

Entry-level position with training and orientation; prior residential aide experience preferred and a valid PA driver’s license is required. The center emphasizes compassionate, trauma-informed care and client safety.

Qualifications

• Prior residential aide experience preferred.
• Must be energetic and able to multitask.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior and reliability with minimal supervision.
• Ability to respond to crisis situations and stay calm under stress.

Responsibilities

• Review/discuss shift change report each shift.
• Update client logbook with observations and notes.
• Transport clients in Center vehicles and assist with intake.
• Food preparation and ensuring client meal safety.
• Monitor clients in facility and off premises during shift.
• Administer testing as directed by nurse/counselor.
• Log medication usage per policy and supervise self-medication when applicable.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; participate in safety drills.
• Check client rooms, assist with daily ADL, and coordinate cleaning.
• Maintain mileage logs and vehicle cleanliness; respond to emergencies.
