Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Sarah’s House, is seeking a Program Assistant for overnight shifts to provide information, assistance, and security to guests. The role emphasizes a welcoming, hospitable approach toward clients, volunteers, and visitors.

Sunday to Thursday 11 PM to 7 AM, on-site at Sarah’s House in Ft Meade. The program supports families experiencing homelessness with emergency shelter and housing, offering meals and casework, with a focus on safety and positive change in the

Qualifications

• One year of related experience preferably working with the homeless or at-risk populations.
• Must be certified in CPR and/or First Aid within six months of employment.
• ServSafe certification within six months of employment.
• Ability to utilize computer systems and software; basic email usage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
• Monitor policy compliance, report incidents, write violations, and assist in emergencies as required.
• Engage with clients and volunteers with professionalism and a helpful attitude.
• Maintain logs and files; document events accurately.
• Inform residents of their rights and the grievance process.
• Monitor building activity to ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Respond to emergencies in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
