Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore seeks a Program Assistant for Sarah’s House, a supportive housing program in Anne Arundel County. The role provides information, assistance, and security to guests, with a 40-hour week (Monday–Friday, 7 AM–3 PM).

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, handling policy compliance tasks, and delivering essential services with a welcoming, hospitable approach. CPR/First Aid and ServSafe certifications are required within six months.

Qualifications

• Ability to utilize, or willingness to learn computer systems and software, necessary to perform position functions.
• Shows reliability by being punctual; maintains consistent attendance.
• Good social skills with respectful demeanor toward staff, clients, and visitors.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to intervene between 2 or more people in a non-violent manner.
• Knowledge of basic concepts of personal care, housekeeping, and other care areas.
• Ability to relate to and show consideration for a variety of personalities.

Responsibilities

• Work to maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
• Handle tasks including monitoring policies, reporting incidents, and emergencies.
• Engage with clients and volunteers to reflect the program's values.
• Maintain logs and files, and record events accurately.
• Ensure residents know their rights and the grievance process.
• Monitor building activity for safety and policy compliance.
• Respond to emergencies professionally.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
