Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Program Assistant for Sarah’s House to provide information, assistance, and security to the program and its guests in a welcoming manner.

The role runs Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM, offering a $16.75 per hour pay rate. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment, documenting incidents, assisting residents with meals, clothing, and transportation, and supporting services for families experiencing homelessness in Anne Arundel County.

Qualifications

• Ability to utilize or learn computer systems necessary to perform position functions.
• Reliable with punctual attendance.
• Good social skills with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Able to stay calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to intervene between two or more people non-violently.
• Knowledge of basic concepts of personal care and housekeeping.
• Ability to relate to diverse personalities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
• Monitor compliance with policies, report incidents, write violations, and assist in emergencies.
• Work with clients and volunteers in a welcoming, helpful manner.
• Maintain logs and files with accurate entries.
• Ensure residents know their rights and grievance process.
• Monitor building activity for safety and policy compliance.
• Respond to emergencies appropriately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Sarah’s House program-specific duties: conduct room inspections and assist in delivering services including meals, clothing, laundry, restrooms, and showers; provide transportation in program vehicles following policies.
