Job summary

100Hires, Inc. seeks a shift-based Production Line Mechanic to maintain and repair high-speed packaging lines. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and support safety and quality initiatives.

The role requires hands-on experience with can manufacturing equipment, automation concepts, and collaboration with maintenance and production to minimize downtime and keep lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Two years production line mechanic or technician experience preferred, or equivalent technical degree or education.
• Packaging and steel aerosol can or aluminum can making equipment experience is a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
• Ability to use Maintenance Shop equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to stand on your feet for the majority of the day and work in hot conditions, as well as crawl under lines and climb ladders.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to work occasional weekends if necessary.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors).
• Work with Electrical staff to troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, drives).
• Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks safely, cost effectively and on time.
• Support food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities.
• Request design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Take lead to consult with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area free from debris and clutter.
