Job summary

100Hires, Inc. is seeking a qualified Production Line Mechanic/Technician for our West Chicago facility to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on high-speed packaging lines.

You will collaborate with electrical staff, perform preventive maintenance, and lead part replacement or improvement initiatives while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. OT and weekend shifts are required on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

2 years of production line mechanic or technician experience.
Packaging/can making equipment experience is a plus.
Automation principles and controls logic knowledge is a plus.
Ability to use maintenance shop equipment.
Stand for long periods and work in hot conditions, crawl under lines and climb ladders.
Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Occasional weekends and flexible schedule required.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment (drive systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors).
Collaborate with Electrical staff to repair electrical issues on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, drives).
Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks safely, cost effectively and on time.
Support food safety, quality and continuous improvement activities.
Request design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
Take lead to consult with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area, keeping storage areas free from debris.
