Job summary

• 0-2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and infection control.
• Ability to collect blood across age groups (neonates to geriatrics).
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection (finger and heel sticks) per policy.
• Ensures positive patient identification and bedside labeling of specimens.
• Prepares, packages, and transports specimens to the laboratory.
• Explains procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and workspace according to safety guidelines.
• Documents patient and specimen information in the laboratory system.
• Collects timed specimens as ordered and prioritizes tasks as needed.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to resolve collection challenges.
