Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the medication distribution process in a high‑volume hospital setting.

You will refill automated dispensing systems, prepare orders, repack bulk medications, and assist with staff education, patient counseling, and discharge prescriptions, with CT licensure within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1+ year as a pharmacy technician preferred; hospital experience strongly preferred.
• License: Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with CT Department of Consumer Protection within 30 days; certification preferred and must be obtained within nine months.

Responsibilities

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Assists (within scope of practice) with patient and staff education, resident/student training, peer interviewing and coaching, process improvement, and discharge prescriptions.
• Positively interacts with patients and other hospital guests to enhance the quality of case/service provided.
