Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, part of the Hartford HealthCare network, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support distributive services and pharmacist workflows.

Responsibilities include refilling automated dispensing systems, preparing orders, stocking inventory, and assisting with staff and patient education. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and CT Pharmacy Technician registration within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in Pharmacy Technician preferred.

• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Demonstrates the ability to staff all Technician assignments and complete responsibilities.
• Assists with patient and staff education, training, and discharge prescriptions.
• Promotes accountability and High Reliability in pharmacy processes.
• All other duties as assigned by Pharmacy leadership.

The Pharmacy Technician provides distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist.

Responsibilities:

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Demonstrates the ability to staff all Technician assignments and efficiently completes all associates responsibilities.
• Assists (within scope of practice) with patient and staff education, resident/student training, peer interviewing and coaching, process improvement, and discharge prescriptions.
• Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of pharmacy systems and processes in order to promote 200% accountability, High Reliability and Relationship Based Care.
• All other responsibilities as assigned by Pharmacy Executive Director, Pharmacy Managers, Pharmacy Supervisor or Pharmacists on Duty.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in Pharmacy Technician program in preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification is strongly preferred
• Pharmacy registration with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection within 30 days of hire and by March 31st of each year.
