Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Manchester Memorial Hospital is seeking an inpatient Pharmacy Technician. Under supervision of a Pharmacist, you will assist with unit dose dispensing, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and obtaining medication histories in the Emergency Department.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and CT technician registration within 30 days of hire. One year of pharmacy tech experience is preferred, with hospital experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• One or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
• CT Registered Pharmacy Technician within 30 days of hire; national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Prepares orders and maintains pharmacy inventory.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Assists with education, training and discharge prescriptions.
• Interacts with patients to enhance service quality.

Manchester Memorial is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our inpatient Pharmacy Department. All interested candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply. Under the supervision and direction of the Pharmacist, our Pharmacy Technicians assist in performing pharmaceutical functions which include unit dose dispensing, sterile and nonsterile compound preparation, and obtaining medication histories in our Emergency Department.

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Prepares orders and maintains inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Assists (within scope of practice) with patient and staff education, resident/student training, peer interviewing and coaching, process improvement, and discharge prescriptions.
• Positively interacts with patients and other hospital guests to enhance the quality of case/service provided.

Education

High School Diploma required or equivalent.

Experience

One or more years experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.

Hospital Pharmacy experience; strongly preferred.

License And Certification

Must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the CT Department of Consumer protection within 30 days of hire.

Pharmacy Technician national certification strongly preferred.
