Job summary

UPMC Chautauqua is seeking a Full-Time Patient Care Technician to work the OVERNIGHT shifts in our Residential Addictions Services Unit. The position offers 4 nights per week, 10-hour shifts to include every other weekend and rotating holidays.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform nursing assistant responsibilities including ADLs and vital signs, transport patients, monitor I&O, and assist with basic therapies, while supporting safety and quality initiatives and documenting care in

Qualifications

• ADLs include bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning patients.

Responsibilities

• Suggests and supports changes within the department. Assumes responsibility for assignment and views problems as challenges.
• Must routinely perform core nursing assistant responsibilities including ADLs, vital signs, I&O, telemetry monitoring, and basic dressings.
• Assures equipment malfunctions are reported and maintains professional relationships with other departments.
• Communicates learning needs to the unit director and participates in self-review as requested.
• Communicates clearly with health care team, supports safety and maintains productive working relationships.
• Provides patient care including assistance with procedures and activities of daily living; may apply/remove restraints as directed.
• Documents in the medical record and completes department clerical functions as needed.
