Job summary

South Mountain Creamery is hiring an Overnight Pasteurizer for our Chambersburg, PA location. This role reports to the Production Manager and runs Sunday night through Friday morning (10:30 pm–6:30 am) with occasional shift adjustments.

Responsibilities include operating pasteurization equipment, completing CIP and documentation, receiving milk deliveries, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Training on sampling/testing will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to calculate formulas for product runs.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operating issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate HTST pasteurizer, homogenizer, skim separator safely.
• Finish pasteurizing products and wash pasteurizer.
• Perform startup on pasteurizer if needed.
• Complete end-of-day CIP washes and документа­tion.
• Receive milk deliveries and maintain sanitation.
• Support other departments as needed.
• Will be trained and certified on sampling/testing.
• Work in warehouse and refrigerated settings; lift up to 50 lbs.

Job description

We are currently hiring for an Overnight Pasteurizer at our South Mountain Creamery location in Chambersburg, PA.

Our Production Team is vital to creating high-quality farm-fresh products that is distributed to home delivery and wholesale customers alike.

This position reports to the Production Manager and is anticipated to work Sunday night-Friday morning, 10:30 pm-6:30 am, with some flexibility to help on other shifts as requested by management.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operate HTST pasteurizer, homogenizer, skim separator while ensuring pasteurizing procedures are conducted in a safe and controlled environment
• Finish pasteurizing products and wash pasteurizer
• Do startup on pasteurizer if necessary
• Complete end-of-day CIPs in production (in-line circuit washes, such as transfer lines and tanks)
• Accurately prepare & maintain all Pasteurization documentation
• Environmental sanitation and cleaning of production equipment
• Receive milk deliveries
• Assist in other departments, as necessary

Will be trained and certified on sampling and testing milk

Work is performed in a warehouse and refrigerated settings; you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while working safely and efficiently. This position requires the incumbent to lift roughly 50lbs from ground level to waist high using proper lifting techniques. Bending and other physical tasks are required.
