Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; some advanced education preferred.
• Current Montana Paramedic Certification or application pending.
• Current National Registry.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS.
• Driving record compliant with AMR policy.
• Ability to pass drug & background screening.
• Ability to pass a physical agility test (PAT).

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine best course of action with Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize Paramedic skills on equipment to provide advanced care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage the scene and unit as needed.
• Work with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
• Develop and utilize triage skills for optimal efficiency.
• Provide patient care per clinical protocols and safety requirements.
• Lift and move patients as required.
• Communicate with receiving facility for medical direction and critical information.
• Drive the ambulance and assist with map reading to minimize response time.
• Communicate with dispatcher to receive and understand call data.
