Job summary

AMR Bozeman is seeking a part-time paramedic to deliver compassionate, high-quality prehospital care overnight. You will assess calls, administer advanced medical interventions, operate defibrillators and monitors, and lead the scene when needed.

This is a critical role in delivering timely EMS services to our community. Qualified candidates hold Montana Paramedic Certification, National Registry, a valid driver’s license, and current BCLS/ACLS/PALS/PEPP/BTLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; some advanced education preferred.
• Montana Paramedic Certification or application pending.
• Current National Registry.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS.
• Clean driving record per AMR policy.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening.
• Ability to pass a physical agility test (PAT).

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best action with Paramedic protocols.
• Provide advanced medical care using defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, and IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families to convey care and assurance.
• Lead scene and unit management as needed.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Apply triage skills to optimize call efficiency.
• Deliver patient care according to protocols and safety requirements.
• Lift and move patients as required.
• Coordinate with receiving facility for direction and critical information.
• Drive ambulance and assist with map reading to minimize response time.
• Relay call data and feedback to dispatcher.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a paramedic, your mission is to provide compassionate, top-notch patient care with a blend of both basic and advanced medical services. Our aim is to deliver these services in a professional, caring, and cost-effective manner that demonstrates our commitment to excellence and our community.

Responsibilities:

• Assess each call situation to determinethebest course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patientsand loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given and to show compassion.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as yourfellow Paramedics.
• Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during calls.
• Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
• Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
• Communicate with receiving facility to receive medical direction and to provide critical information.
• Drive the ambulance and provide map reading support to minimize call response time.
• Communicate with dispatcher to receive and understand call data and customer feedback.

OtherResponsibilities:

• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
• Meets and communicates with existing customers/staff members (including skilled nursing, assisted living, and hospital facilities) on a regular basis to ensure that AMR is meeting their needs. Reports these interactions to the operations and/or account manager on a regular basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MinimumRequiredQualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Some advanced education preferred.
• Current state of Montana Paramedic Certification or application pending
• Current National Registry
• Possess a valid State Driver’s License.
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS
• Driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policy.
• Ability to pass drug & background screening
• Ability to pass a physical agility test (PAT)
