Job summary

AlexRenew is seeking an Operations Team Lead for the overnight shift in Alexandria, VA. The role supervises skilled staff, coordinates training, and assists with planning and scheduling for a wastewater treatment plant, 9:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

The position requires leadership abilities, a valid license, and relevant certifications. The candidate will perform rounds, manage equipment, monitor quality, and maintain compliance records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of AlexRenew experience operating wastewater treatment plant.
• Currently in Operations Technician II or higher role.
• Must complete AlexRenew Team Lead program within one year.
• Virginia Wastewater Works Class 1 or 2 license required.
• ABC Professional Operator Class II certification or obtain within one year.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and enforce policies and procedures.
• Coordinate training and coaching of Operations staff.
• Mentor staff for career development and monitor performance.
• Assist planning and scheduling of shift work assignments.
• Communicate critical and routine information promptly.
• Participate in interviews and onboarding for new hires.
• Monitor and operate liquid and solids processes to standards.
• Perform routine maintenance requests and coordinate with maintenance.
• Maintain accurate logs, shift reports, and incident records.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee special projects and act on behalf of the Supervisor.
