Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Victorville, CA seeks an Overnight On-Call LVN/LPT to join the Desert Hills Crisis Residential Treatment unit. Responsibilities include medication administration, supervising unit staff, and documenting medications per physician orders.

Requires CA LVN/LPT license and CPR/First Aid certification. One year of inpatient mental health experience is preferred; associate degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active, valid California LVN or LPT license. Graduation from an accredited school. Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience with medication administration.
• 1 year experience treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting preferred.
• CPR certification and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care including medication administration.
• Supervise nursing activities of unit staff and document medications per physician orders.
• Communicate important information to the team and write weekly client summaries.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation throughout the shift and perform related duties as needed.

Working Hours/Shift: Friday / Saturday 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

What You Bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

• Education & Licensure: Active, valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license. Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology. Associate degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience with medication administration (Required). One (1) year of experience treating individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting (Preferred).
• Safety & Compliance: Must be 18 years of age or older. Current CPR certification. First Aid certification from an approved provider (such as the American Red Cross).

How you will make a difference:

The LVN / LPT is responsible for providing direct client care, including medication administration and supervising the nursing activities of unit staff. Key duties include ordering, preparing, and documenting medications according to physician orders and confirming pharmacy deliveries. The role also requires communicating important information to the team, writing weekly client summaries as assigned, and maintaining accurate nursing documentation throughout the shift. This position also performs other related duties as needed.

• Program: The Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) is a short-term voluntary residential facility.
• Population Served: Designed to help adult residents, ages 18-59, who experience a psychiatric crisis to safely stabilize, recover, and transition back to community.
• Facility & Setting: Short-term voluntary residential facility, 24/7
• Program Clinical Services: Therapeutic and mental health services, Medication evaluation and support services, Crisis intervention
• Length of Stay: Short-term
• Skills & Transition: Pre-vocational or vocational counseling, transition back to community
• Skills & Services: Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services, Daily exercise and health/wellness education
