Job summary

Citizens Options Unlimited in New York is seeking an Overnight Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, hands-on care during overnight and morning hours. You will assist with self-care, meals, medication, and daily routines, while promoting safety and independence.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean home, following treatment plans, and documenting events. A NY driver’s license and AMAP status are required to support people in the programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Qualified New York State Driver’s license that meets agency insurance standards.
• Successful completion and maintenance of AMAP status.
• Ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives with a positive team approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight and morning support including self-care routines to maintain quality of life.
• Maintain a safe, clean home and assist with household chores as needed.
• Follow treatment plans and use adaptive/safety equipment to promote independence.
• Report incidents and document events affecting health or safety.
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and support medication administration per policy.
• Assist with transporting to day programs or job locations using safe driving practices.
