Job summary

Open Door Mission in Omaha, NE is seeking a Part Time Overnight Men's Support Worker to help provide safe shelter, meals, and supportive services at the Garland Thompson Men's Center. You will monitor guests and assist with crises, care for basic needs, and support the mission's outreach.

The ideal candidate has a visible Christian faith, a high school diploma, and experience in human services, with strong de-escalation and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Visible relationship with Christ and regular church attendance.
• Ability to share the Gospel as opportunities arise.
• High School Diploma.
• Experience in Human Services or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor guests and GTMC public areas; supervise mealtimes; manage crises.
• Provide emergency crisis counseling, problem-solving, and de-escalation.
• Provide medication access, control, and documentation.
• Perform closing procedures at end of day.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests.
• Exemplify Jesus Christ daily, sharing the gospel or praying with others.
