Job summary

The Medical Assistant position at Colorado Coalition for the Homeless supports a multidisciplinary health care team, performing patient care, administrative duties, and laboratory tasks to assist clinicians. The MA will document vitals, assist with immunizations, manage records in NextGen, and coordinate with care teams to ensure high quality service for patients experiencing homelessness.

Qualifications include a Medical Assistant education, CPR certification, and strong interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant program or related training preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe delivery of patient care in routine and emergency situations within scope of education and training.
• Record vital signs and patient information accurately in NextGen.
• Maintain confidential, professional work environment.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary health care teams to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Enter immunizations into CIIS and perform laboratory tests as needed.
• Assist with scheduling, referrals, and documentation according to HIPAA policies.
• Support of EHR and practice management systems (EPM) for charting and billing.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens for lab work.
