Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is hiring a Production Line Mechanic for our Oswego Township facility in Illinois. You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems on high-speed production line equipment, including conveyors, drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

You will collaborate with Electrical staff to service packaging/processing equipment; perform preventive maintenance; and support food safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Two years of Production Line Mechanic or Technician experience preferred, or equivalent technical degree.
• Packaging/processing equipment experience a plus.
• Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
• Ability to use maintenance shop equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and work in hot conditions; crawl under lines and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems on high-speed production line equipment (drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors).
• Collaborate with Electrical staff to troubleshoot and repair electrical problems on packaging/processing equipment (wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, motors, drives).
• Perform routine preventative maintenance safely, cost-effectively and on time.
• Support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
• Request design/fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
• Lead with internal resources to resolve issues and improve equipment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, keeping workspace and storage areas free from debris and clutter.
