Job summary

Sika Corporation in Canton, MA is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for our Roofing business. The role runs on a V shift: Mon, Tue, Wed, and every other Wed, 6pm–6am, starting soon. You will operate a PLC-controlled extrusion coating line and maintain quality while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities include setup, operation, breakdown, cleaning, parameter development to optimize line speeds and yields, forklift operation, and routine product quality checks. OT may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production desirable.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and tolerate extreme temperatures.
• Willingness to overtime and cover shifts as needed.

• Support a PLC controlled 120 wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating line.
• Set up, operate, breakdown and clean components, and optimize processing parameters to improve line speeds and yields.
• Safe operation of forklifts to transport materials to workstations.
• Ensure proper quality review of the product on workstations assigned.
• Follow all company policies, including environmental policy and notify supervisor of any concerns.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Sika is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join its growing team in the Canton, MA area for our Roofing business. The Machine Operator will work V shift which is M, T, W and every other Wednesday 6pm to 6am

• Supporting a PLC controlled 120 wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating line

• Safe operation of forklifts to transport materials to workstations.
• Ensure proper quality review of the product on workstations assigned.

• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production highly desirable
• Ability to read and write English
• Good verbal communications skills
• Understanding of how to use a touch-screen (PLC) production line
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures
• Ability and willingness to work overtime if required
• Availability and willingness to cover any shift with prior notification
