Job summary

Sika, a global specialty chemicals company, is seeking a Machine Operator to join the Gastonia, NC team. The role supports the shift supervisor, operates production lines, and adjusts operating conditions to maintain part quality.

Responsibilities include startup of utilities, quality testing, training new staff, basic maintenance, and assist in labeling and packing parts. A High School Diploma or GED and manufacturing exposure are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 months to 1 year manufacturing experience required.
• Knowledge of metric system, computer literacy, forklift operation, and reading/writing.

Responsibilities

• Operate production line equipment (mixing system, calendar, press, hot melt, embosser, and related units).
• Start up the hot oil heater and water chillers.
• Perform quality testing and correct out-of-spec conditions.
• Ensure production schedule adherence.
• Assist in training new production employees.
• Perform maintenance on presses and report repairs.
• Assist in labeling and packing parts.

Overview of the Role

Sika is looking for experienced Machine Operator to join it’s growing team in Gastonia, NC.

This position will assist the shift supervisor in coordinating the work of production employees involved in production activities. Requires knowledge of manufacturing processes and product. Operates manufacturing line. Requires the ability to vary prescribed operating conditions as necessary to produce quality parts. Changes and adjust operating conditions to maintain proper quality.

What We Are Looking For!

• To operate one or more of the following: the mixing system; calendar; press; hot melt; embosser 1, 2, and 3; anti-sticking agent unit; adhesive unit 1 and 2; U.V. unit; magnetizing unit
• To start up the hot oil heater and water chillers
• Perform quality testing; make corrections for out-of-spec conditions
• Ensure production scheduled to adhered to
• Assist in training new production employees
• Perform some maintenance on the press and report any needed repairs on the machines
• Assist in labeling and packing parts

Qualifications
