Job summary

Sika Houston is seeking a manufacturing operator to work with raw materials, following specific instructions to ensure correct quantities and production times.

You will operate various packaging equipment, perform routine mechanical repairs, use forklift to move materials, and support quality control initiatives while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must read, understand and communicate in English to operate machines and interface with PLC control screens.
• Must solve simple math problems to record chemical additions, lot numbers, and scale readings.
• Must have mechanical ability to operate automated packaging equipment.
• Must be able to work with chemicals and machinery safely.
• Must have strength to bend, push, pull, lift, and climb.
• Must work without constant supervision.
• Must think ahead and prepare for upcoming batches.

Job Description

Works with various raw materials in the manufacture of products. Responsible for following specific instructions outlining designated quantities to be used and production times required. Operates various equipment in the manufacture of products; utilizes basic repair tools in performing routine mechanical repairs; operates forklift to load and/or unload raw materials and finished products. Also, coordinates manufacturing efforts and conducts quality control initiatives.

• Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English to operate machines and interface with PLC control screens, read and complete process orders, complete safety tests.
• Must be able to solve simple math problems, +, -, x, /, to accurately record chemical additions, lot numbers, record scale readings.
