Job summary

Progress West Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks a nationally certified pharmacy technician to join the inpatient team, working bedside with clinicians to support patient care.

This role features 7 on 7 off overnights from 9 PM to 7 AM, with responsibilities including compounding, dispensing, and using automated systems, while maintaining documentation. Minimum requirements include HS diploma, <2 years experience, and relevant licenses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licenses: State Board Pharmacy Registration and Pharmacy Tech Certification.
• Experience: <2 years; preferred 2-5 years.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
• Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
• Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
• Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
• Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
