Job summary

Progress West Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2 to join the bedside care team. Under supervision of a staff pharmacist you will prepare medication orders, assist in dispensing and transporting medications, and perform sterile and non-sterile compounding.

The role requires a State Board Pharmacy Registration and Pharmacy Tech Certification, with <2 years of experience preferred; the position includes 7 on 7 off overnights from 9 PM to 7 AM in Missouri.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• <2 years of experience preferred.
• State Board Pharmacy Registration required.
• Pharmacy Tech Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
• Assists in preparation of medication orders, workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
• Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
• Supports inventory activities including storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
• Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
