Job summary

PITT OHIO in Portage, MI is hiring a Full Time Dockworker-Inbound to join our safety-minded team. You will load and unload freight, assist with shipping labels, and perform DOT-compliant handling on the dock and on trucks.

You must read and write English, pass a pre-employment drug screen, and be available Tuesday-Saturday with a 2 AM start. We offer medical, dental, vision, 401(k), profit sharing, PTO and holidays, plus a strong, respectful work culture.

Qualifications

• Must pass a NON-DOT physical examination.
• Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen with negative result.
• Ability to read and write English and perform simple math.
• At-will employment with Pitt Ohio; background checks may apply.
• DOT regulations compliance and safety-conscious work environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight by hand or with dolly, following DOT requirements.
• Sort and secure items on trucks and on dock to prevent damage.
• Lift heavy materials including cartons, bags, crates, drums, pipes, and more.
• Operate common material handling equipment: carts, dollies, pallet jacks, tow motors.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies; complete paperwork daily.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
