Job summary

AmeriWell Care in Manchester, NJ is seeking an Overnight Respite Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide compassionate in-home supervision for an adult with developmental disabilities. This part-time role also offers full-time options, with overnight shifts from 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM.

The DSP will support daily living needs, monitor health and safety, document progress, and collaborate with families and the support team to ensure a safe, respectful environment while complying with NJ DDD

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience with behavioral support needs highly desirable.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain awake, alert, and attentive during the overnight shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and support in the individual's home
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the individual throughout the shift
• Assist with personal care as needed
• Monitor for behavioral or medical concerns and follow established support plans
• Complete required documentation and progress notes accurately and timely
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
• Communicate effectively with family members, agency staff, and support team members
• Follow all agency policies, NJ DDD regulations, Danielle's Law, and incident reporting requirements
